DMCA Policy
Massage Republic respects intellectual property rights and provides a process for reporting unauthorized use of copyrighted photographs, images and other protected materials. This policy explains how copyright owners and authorized representatives can submit complaints, request content review and respond to copyright disputes.
Last Updated:
1. Copyright Protection and Policy Scope
Massage Republic is an independent online classified advertising and profile listing platform. Advertisements, photographs, descriptions and other user-generated materials are submitted by third-party advertisers. We respect the intellectual property rights of copyright owners and expect users to publish only content they own or are authorized to use.
- ✓ This policy explains the process for reporting suspected copyright infringement on Massage Republic.
- ✓ Copyright complaints may concern photographs, written content, graphics or other legally protected materials.
- ✓ Advertisers are responsible for obtaining necessary rights and permissions before uploading content.
- ✓ We may review, restrict or remove disputed material in accordance with applicable laws and platform policies.
- ✓ The United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) applies where legally relevant; local mandatory laws and rights continue to apply.
- ✓ This policy does not establish that United States copyright law governs every complaint submitted worldwide.
2. Choose the Appropriate Reporting Method
Before submitting a request, identify whether your concern involves copyright infringement, unauthorized use of your personal photograph, impersonation or another type of prohibited content.
- ✓ Copyright Infringement: Use the copyright complaint procedure if you own the relevant rights or are legally authorized to represent the copyright owner.
- ✓ Unauthorized Personal Photograph: If a photograph depicts you without permission, you may request a review through the Remove My Photo page even if you are not the copyright owner.
- ✓ Impersonation or Fake Profile: Report advertisements that misuse another person’s identity or contain misleading representations through the Report an Ad page.
- ✓ Serious Safety Concerns: Suspected exploitation, trafficking, underage material or threats should be reported through the appropriate safety-reporting channel.
- ✓ Being the person shown in a photograph does not automatically establish ownership of its copyright.
- ✓ Do not download, forward or redistribute suspected illegal material when submitting a report.
3. How to Submit a Copyright Complaint
Copyright owners and authorized representatives can submit complaints through our Contact Us page. Begin the subject or message with Copyright Complaint or DMCA Takedown Notice, as appropriate. Provide accurate details identifying the original work and the disputed content.
- ✓ Provide your full name and a working email address for communication.
- ✓ State whether you are the copyright owner or an authorized representative.
- ✓ Identify the original copyrighted photograph, image, text or other protected work.
- ✓ Provide the exact Massage Republic advertisement URL where the disputed material appears.
- ✓ Include a direct image URL or clearly identify the position of the disputed photograph when possible.
- ✓ Explain why you believe the publication or use is unauthorized.
- ✓ Identify the country or jurisdiction relevant to your complaint.
- ✓ For multiple affected advertisements, provide an organized list of the corresponding URLs.
- ✓ Do not submit passwords, verification codes, financial credentials or unrelated identity documents.
4. Requirements for a Valid DMCA Takedown Notice
Where a complaint is submitted under the United States DMCA, a valid written notice generally must contain the information required by 17 U.S.C. Section 512(c)(3). Missing or inaccurate information may prevent a notice from qualifying under the statutory process.
- ✓ A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.
- ✓ Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or a representative list where appropriate.
- ✓ Identification of the allegedly infringing material and information reasonably sufficient to locate it.
- ✓ Contact information reasonably sufficient to reach the complaining party, including an address, telephone number and available email address.
- ✓ A statement that the complaining party has a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- ✓ A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that the complaining party is authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the allegedly infringed exclusive right.
- ✓ Supporting details such as an original publication URL, licensing information or an explanation of ownership may help the review process.
5. Copyright Complaint Review and Content Removal
After receiving a copyright complaint, Massage Republic may assess the information provided, examine the identified material and determine the appropriate response under applicable law and platform policies. A complaint does not automatically establish that copyright infringement has occurred.
- ✓ Review the affected advertisement and the specific copyrighted material identified.
- ✓ Request clarification or additional information where necessary.
- ✓ Consider relevant permissions, licensing arrangements and applicable copyright exceptions.
- ✓ Restrict access to or remove disputed content where warranted.
- ✓ Notify the affected advertiser or account holder where legally required or appropriate.
- ✓ Apply the legally required removal or disabling process where a qualifying DMCA notice and relevant statutory obligations apply.
- ✓ Take additional account or moderation action where repeated violations or other prohibited conduct are identified.
- ✓ We do not guarantee a fixed review period for all requests; applicable legal obligations and deadlines take priority.
6. Counter-Notification for Removed Content
If an advertiser believes that material was removed because of a mistake or misidentification, the advertiser may submit an appropriate counter-notification where the relevant legal procedure permits one. A counter-notification is a formal legal statement and should not be submitted without a genuine basis.
- ✓ Identify the content that was removed or disabled and its former location on the website.
- ✓ Provide your full legal name, address and telephone number.
- ✓ Include your physical or electronic signature.
- ✓ State under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled because of mistake or misidentification.
- ✓ For a U.S. DMCA counter-notification, include consent to the required United States Federal District Court jurisdiction and agreement to accept service of process from the complainant or their agent.
- ✓ For individuals outside the United States, the relevant jurisdiction statement concerns a district where the service provider may be found.
- ✓ Provide a working contact email so support can communicate about the dispute.
- ✓ Consider seeking independent legal advice before submitting a formal counter-notification.
7. Restoration of Content After Counter-Notification
Where the United States DMCA counter-notification procedure applies, a qualifying counter-notification may be forwarded to the original complaining party. Under the applicable statutory process, material may be restored between 10 and 14 business days after receipt of the counter-notification unless the provider receives notice of an appropriate court action seeking to restrain the disputed activity.
- ✓ Restoration is subject to the requirements of the applicable legal procedure.
- ✓ A counter-notification does not automatically guarantee that the material will be republished.
- ✓ Content may remain restricted if it independently violates website rules, privacy rights or applicable laws.
- ✓ Unauthorized personal photographs, impersonation and non-consensual content may require separate review.
- ✓ The United States DMCA restoration timetable does not automatically apply to complaints governed by other jurisdictions.
8. Repeat Infringement and Misuse of Copyright Notices
Massage Republic expects advertisers and users to respect intellectual property rights. Repeated copyright infringement, deliberate misuse of the complaint process or attempts to bypass content restrictions may result in further moderation or account action.
- ✓ Repeated infringement may result in advertisement removal, account restrictions or termination in appropriate circumstances.
- ✓ Users must not upload copyrighted material without the necessary authorization.
- ✓ Previously published, imported or migrated advertisements are not exempt from copyright review.
- ✓ Users must not re-upload disputed material to evade a valid restriction.
- ✓ Knowingly false copyright complaints or counter-notifications may have legal consequences.
- ✓ The copyright reporting process must not be used to harass competitors, suppress lawful content or obtain another person’s private information.
- ✓ Website moderation and account enforcement remain subject to applicable legal requirements.
9. Privacy and Information Sharing During Disputes
Information submitted with copyright complaints and counter-notifications may be processed for verification, legal compliance, moderation and dispute handling. Depending on the applicable process, relevant information may need to be shared with affected parties, legal representatives or competent authorities.
- ✓ Provide only information reasonably necessary to explain and support your complaint.
- ✓ Certain contact details and statements may need to be disclosed as part of an applicable legal process.
- ✓ We cannot guarantee that all information in a formal copyright notice will remain confidential.
- ✓ If disclosure creates a personal safety concern, explain that concern when contacting support.
- ✓ An authorized representative may be able to submit a complaint on behalf of a rights owner.
- ✓ Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy & Data Protection Policy and applicable law.
10. International Copyright Complaints and Policy Updates
Massage Republic may receive copyright complaints from users in different countries. Copyright owners may report potentially infringing content regardless of their location. The legal assessment, complaint requirements and available remedies depend on the laws and circumstances applicable to each dispute.
- ✓ Provide sufficient information to identify the original work and disputed content.
- ✓ Include relevant country or jurisdiction details when submitting an international complaint.
- ✓ Applicable local copyright laws and mandatory legal rights continue to apply.
- ✓ Removing content from Massage Republic does not automatically delete screenshots, external copies, downloads or search-engine caches.
- ✓ If additional listings contain the same disputed material, provide their individual URLs for review.
- ✓ We may update this policy to reflect changes in platform functionality, reporting procedures or legal requirements.
- ✓ For follow-up requests, reference the original complaint and affected advertisement URLs.
- ✓ Copyright-related questions and follow-up information may be submitted through our Contact Us page.
